Teenager Peter Stenchek si out of work, on the skids, and -- unbeknownest to him -- a psionic-powered "harbinger" with the potential to reshape the course of human history. Toyo Harada is a wealthy business magnate, a respecte philanthropist, and the most powerful harbinger of all -- or so he thought. As they forge an uneasy alliance, with Harada offer Peter a chance for redemption -- or attempt to induct him into a secret network of conspiracy, subversion, and control? Peter is about to discover that he's not alone in the world and, soon, the generation who has nothing will take on the man who has everything.

Kenmadsen,
I'm glad you like the book. I do think it's pretty good, however, I re-read the original and just like it more. I guess we have a difference of opinion there. However, I am shocked at the number of people that burned this issue. I never click the "bag it" or "burn it" buttons and only did so on this issue because it showed 80% of people burned it which I don't think is fair to this book (now it shows 57%). So I clicked the "bag it" button. So if you haven't done so, click the "bag it" button so people don't think this book sucks.

I have to disagree, this is by far better than any of the original Valiant comics. I was/am a fan of the classic Valiants but this new take on Harbinger (as well as X-O) are not just great for Vailiant comics they are good quality books. I cant wait for Bloodshot!

I have to say this is an interesting story. I wouldn't say it's as good as the original but it's a new take and I'm intrigued enough that I will definitely buy the next issue.
One thing I don't like too much is the coloring on some of the pages. There are parts where it seems to cheapen the art a bit.
