Siege reads great. This issue on its own doesn't read all that great, and the wait for it took some serious wind out of the momentum of Siege. Having said that as a whole Siege reads great and really delivered. Yes the ending of the big battle in Asgard is a bit anti-climactic, but the actual ending of Siege (SPOILER ALERT!!!!!: tThe beginning of the Heroic Age) is great stuff.

Enjoyed it a lot! I got back into comics around Secret War, and this feels like the culmination of everything I've been reading. At first I thought "Siege" would be anything but new-reader friendly, but what I find clever about the whole thing is that it starts off that way but ends with the MU resetting itself to a more familiar atmosphere... and with the real Avengers at the center of everything. As for Sentry, I always HATED the character sullying my otherwise satisfying experiences with New/Mighty/Dark Avengers. Now he's dead, and I couldn't be happier (if I had to have one more debate about how Superman could destroy the Sentry, I was gonna puke). Plus, Thor was able to kill him without the help of Norn Stones or anything else, thus establishing who the REAL powerhouse of the MU is (now the debate can return to what it always should have been; THOR vs. Superman!).

I second the underwhelming. Add to this the insulting way they handled the ending and it was a pretty bad comic all in all.
Also- what the heck happened between Siege: Loki and Siege proper?

Honestly? I was underwhelmed. It didn't feel like the culmination of a year and a half long story. Part of it may be that I've never liked the Sentry and to have him step forward as the ultimate villain this late in the game was frustrating.
