Pro:
Dodson continues to enchant and amaze me - his work is such bright and brilliant light. I've have been put off by X-Men since the Morrison debacle and have yet to start reading the titles with any regularity. I think from what I see from Dodson and what I know from Fraction and Brubaker, I just could become a fan again.
Con:
This is where it get's messy.
Greg Land needs to either quit comics completely or knock off the light-boxing because all his pages look like they came from Light Beer ads. In the 90's Land had a killer style and did some great work on Nightwing but then CrossGen came along and he became the epitome of suck. He went from top 10 with Jim Lee et al to the bottom of the group, (Liefeld) in the art category. This is comic art, not Abercrombie & Fitch.
I actually have not read the whole issue, I got to Land's first page and I could not go on reading - it was that big of a shock from Dodson to Land. It's like being kissed passionately and then sucker punched right after. It is the suck and it is artistic abuse. So, PLEASE, Greg Land - go back to drawing comics and loose the light board or GO AWAY!
-- High Point - Dodson shines like the sun
-- Low Point - Unplug the light board and for heaven sakes DRAW Greg Land!
