Early this week, I read the following description: Detective Comics #847 - A "Batman R.I.P." tie-in?
Well, I don't think that was completely accurate. This issue's lack of involvement in the Batman R.I.P. story arc only increases my current level of frustration with the DCU. Consider this: Final Crisis is off to a great start and seems to allude to events that could shape the entire future of the DCU. However, while Batman is currently imprisoned by the gods of Apokolips, he is also running around the streets of Gotham as a deranged mad-man, and he is also fighting Hush while flirting with Catwoman and Zatanna. What's the deal? I understand that each title has to sell books, thus the differing story lines, but would readers not also buy all three titles if they were connected each week?
Consider this my review - I love the story. I am glad to see Hush back in a Batman book and I am enjoying the tension between Batman, Catwoman, and Zatanna. Furthermore, the art is great. I LOVE the art in this book (I wish "Batman" had the same artist.) However, I am disappointed at the lack of connection with the Morrison story. Nevertheless, despite my frustration, I will continue to read...
