We open the story with the last page cliffhanger from the previous issue, where Tom Taylor runs into an unexpected character. I will not reveal the identity of the character as I wish to keep it spoiler-free, but the encounter leaves you with more questions than answers. To give you a hint, it seems to lean towards the fictional aspect of Tom Taylor and his unwillingness to accept it.
The rest of the issue revolves around the attempt on Tom Taylor's life while in prison. The story reveals the true intentions of his cellmate Savoy, as well as flesh out Governor Chadron a little more. This proves that these two characters will play an important role in this arc. Some further revelations of Chadron are made, but I won't spoil them here.
There is also a cameo of Lizzie Hexham as she is admitted into the women's division of the prison. No light is shed as to what role she will play in the story but it seems the stage is set for her.
Once again, we are left with a cliffhanger ending. Coupled with Peter Gross' art, it just doesn't get any better than what we have here. A fantastic job all around.
