If you are like me you found yourself a little disgusted at the end of Final Crisis #1. Why you ask? Because it seemed like one of the best DC character's and definitely one of the best DC hero's was appropriately murdered. And it wasn't so much that his death was tragic it was the fact that it only took two pages to show it from beginning to end. While other character's are given an entire year to die *cough* Batman R.I.P. *cough* whereas J'onnz was given two pages. So thankfully DC decided that they needed more of everyone's money and put out a Final Crisis special. I'll tell you this... I didn't feel ripped off. Peter J. does a brilliant job of not only J'onnz's last moments, but of his entire life and his role within the superhuman community. Rather than just being stabbed and yelling out his wife's name MM goes out like a champ showing why the villains were always afraid of him the most. The final pages of this book should mess with your tear ducts. Even if you are not a fan of the character or even of DC books, the story is so good that if you don't feel anything for the character's, then nothing will pierce your heart of ice. One of, if not the best single issue DC will put out this year.
