So Jason Todd is the Red Hood - that is original. While Morrison has been brilliant and brought about some interesting characters in his run he has been equally as dumb and done some terrible things. Yes, I am still bitter about the Bruce Wayne no longer being Batman thing but that is not my complaint here. Jason Todd as Dick Grayson's nemesis is too easy and contrite. I really was hoping for a twist to come about and see that the Hood was really somebody different that I wasn't expecting.
The dynamic duo is not very dynamic either. To this point we see the same tire trend. Batman and Robin run into battle, Damien does something stupid and the team suffers for it. I really was optimistic that Morrison's new Batman & Robin book would be better than this but I have been let down that is for sure. Phil Tan is a favorite of mine but this issue didn't feel right at all. I am not sure if he was pushed for a deadline or if he was trying a new technique but I thought the art was not up to his capabilities.
I will hold on for one more issue but I have to say that unless Jason Todd is killed and something huge happens to propel the story forward I will be dropping this title.
