When I heard that Quitely was leaving the book as penciler, I was disapointed. Thankfully, Phillip Tan did a fine job talking over with #4. Tan's art continues some of the groundwork Quitely left, while still producing it's own feel. The overall tone of the art is much darker now. It's a bit of a departure from the campiness of the color seen in issues 1-3.
Grant Morrison's writing continues to be just that; Grant Morrison's writing. Confusing at times, but entertaining. His character development of Red Hood and Scarlet is decent, and may be the best part of the book. Both characters are more interesting than Dick and Damian at this point. Morrison is making Gotham and it's villians/anti-heroes fun again. I look forward to issue #5!
