And so come the 3rd issue and with it a spooky house, a horror writers workshop, secrets from the past and.........erm............that's about it !!
Again the feeling of familiarity fills these pages and I just don't know yet if this title is going to stick with me despite the fact that I really want it to.
The juxtaposition between fiction and reality, while for the most time, is clearly defined the edges where they meet are starting to get a slight fuzzy and for this to take a firm foothold in my pull list Carey is going to have to pull something out the bag and soon. I know he can have me on the edge of my seat but right now I'm just kind of leaning forward in some state of anticipation.
The artwork is average this time out, faces lack detail and seem flat and uninteresting though lighting is put to very good use by Gross.
On the strength of this issue alone I can't say I'd heartily recommend this title yet, let's see how this first story arc pans out for a final decision.
