So I finally read issue #4 last night and this book continues to deliver. I don't mean like it has some good moments deliver but this is like Next AM UPS on the delivery scale - it always brings the goods.
Senior Kuhn knocked it out of the park with the art. The drama of Duncan's dad dying and the battle with the alien robot - there was a lot of emotion going on at once and he got it all point on right.
The colors help compliment the art and add a wonderful landscape for this story to take place. There is a muted toning that plays right into my image of a dragon's world.
Phil continues to tell a great story and the cast has so much potential to grow. I love the story and the hardships that Duncan is facing in just his first story arc. He gets a crappy birthday gift from his dad, cupcakes from his mom, finds out that the girl he likes is going to go away for college, his father dies and he has to kill an alien robot that wants to wipe out his species..... yep that is a nice way to start off the book.
Great book and I hope that we get to see more of it in 2009.
