Steven S. DeKnight (W), Georges Jeanty (P/Alt. Cover), Andy Owens (I), Michelle Madsen (C), and Jo Chen (Cover)
Joss Whedon has definitely left his mark on this title, and not just for the obvious reasons. This issue is a pretty so-so chapter that does next to nothing to advance the greater plot, has a couple of not-very-threatening fight scenes, and is even a bit light on characters development. Even Jeanty's art, which I usually like quite a lot, seemed a bit... less-than.
That said, it's still a fun read! It's got plenty of little tidbits of Jossy goodness we've come to expect from the Buffy franchise, one or two laugh out loud jokes, a big bad that is... well, it's just so Joss. Writer DeKnight really deserves some credit for channeling the style of the series so well.
In the end, this issue probably won't win any awards, and might even be forgotten by everyone but the most die hard fans of Kennedy and/or Satsu. But it's a Buffy comic! Of course your'e going to buy it!
