Episode 119: Serena Valentino

Sunday September 27, 2009 07:45:00 pm
Nightmares and Fairy Tales Vol. 4
Serena Valentino joins us to discuss Nightmares and Fairy Tales, several of which are available on the Comics by comiXology iPhone comics platform, and to talk about her recent novel Fairest of All for Disney Press and an upcoming how-to manual for newly reanimated zombies.
by Serena Valentino & Camilla d'Errico
Collecting issues #19-23 of Nightmare & Fairy Tales, the collection features 'Harmony,' a modern and heartbreakingly beautiful adaptation of' Sleeping Beauty,' in which Gwen and Aunt Bea take a trip to San Francisco and encounter the spirit of a lovely young woman wandering the Sutro Bath ruins. Also featured is 'Song of the Siren,' the story of a beautiful mermaid ensnared by a sideshow charlatan and put on display in his traveling carnival, an exquisitely frightening and disturbing tale. Plus, sketches and script excerpts will be included in the collection, along with pin-ups by FSc and Crab Scrambly.
