Hi guys.

So i was an avid reader of DC back in the 80s and early 90s. for whatever reason i stopped and had a few false starts along the way. still, i've been collecting again since 2000 even though i haven't read very much. so here's my question. where's the best place to start since the year 2000? here's what i have.

all of the Batman titles (Detective, Robin, Nightwing, Etc)

Superman and Action

JLA

so where's a good place to pick it up?

Pete -- Let me respectfully recommend my DC Comics Trade Paperback Timeline (www.geocities.com/collectededitions/dctpbtimeline.html), which puts DC's trades in chronological order and tells you what they're about; this might help you find something that interests you.

Specifically, I'd say Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, or Identity Crisis, are both good places to start. They lead in to other books and ultimately put you on a path where you'll know what you need to know before Infinite Crisis. From there the timeline's pretty straightforward to Final Crisis and the present.

Hope that helps!

I'd also agree with jumping on at Identity Crisis. It pretty much set up the DCU for the next few years. From there, definitely Green Lantern Rebirth and then the main Green Lantern line, if you want to read the big event book this year, Blackest Night.

I'm a Bat-fan, and my recommendation is to begin reading Batman at the "Batman and Son" storyline (from 2006). As you read from there, you will be brought up to speed, and will be led to Batman RIP and Final Crisis. Also, anything that Paul Dini has written for Detective is great

damn!! fantastic. i don't even need to buy anything then really. i got all this stuff in perfect condition in my boxes. so if i start with Identity Crisis, we're talking 2003. totally doable.

scienceante, i'm a sucker for all things Batman and always have been. i still have all my stuff from the 80's and early 90's.

i don't have any Green Lantern so i'll have to pick that up..

collectededitions thanks for that timeline.

and thanks to all of you. i will be chillin this long weekend.
